12-day commissioning challenge!
DEADLINE: JUNE 24, 2013...7 days left!
Rising star composer Elena Ruehr of MIT has agreed to compose a 3-song cycle for the JMPP to premiere in Spring 2014 if we raise $1000 as a match from an anonymous donation for her commissioning fee.
Many of you have heard and admired Elena's "Prelude," which Dale has been playing on our concerts this season.
Now we've got an opportunity for Elena to write specifically for the JMPP for a concert in spring 2014.
But we have to raise the $1000 by June 24. Or else, like Cinderella, our coach will turn into a pumpkin...
Please help us pounce on this incredible luck by clicking on the link below and donating before June 24. And please pass it on, too!
New music to texts by Jewish women poets and women composers, as well as by "ostracized"Jewish composers of the 20th century--with the occasional detour towards other poets or musicians that intrigue us...
The JMPP is thrilled to announce that we've been awarded a grant from the Zellerbach Family Foundation and the Wallace Alexander Gerbode Foundation through the Zellerbach Family Foundation Community Arts Program!
